Who Am I?

In 2012 I thought I was going mad. I really felt like I was losing my mind. I used to be happy, confident, sharp, full of energy and had a clear plan for life.

Suddenly I realised I’d become tired, resentful, mildly depressed – crying five or six times a day was the norm. I couldn’t think straight or concentrate on anything, I’d lost my motivation, and my confidence had walked out the door a long time before.

I covered it well outside of the home; seeing clients, family and friends, acting like the person I thought I should be – happy, fulfilled and energetic.

But inside I felt awful, and the worst part was I worked in women’s health and fitness, everyone expected me to be healthy and fit!

I felt guilty for not being in perfect health, which of course made my situation worse. Was I mad? Or could I be menopausal?

  • My hormones were at the root of it all

In the end it turned out that I wasn’t menopausal, or even crazy. I was perimenopausal.

My problems with my mental and physical health were being driven by hormonal imbalances. Once I knew my hormones were at the root of it all, I read everything I could about hormonal health. I got educated and qualified.

This knowledge and learning helped me to turn things around pretty quickly; I made changes to how I ate, how I exercised, and most importantly how I lived my life. I felt better within days, and back to normal within weeks.

I was already working in the health industry, but this experience with my own hormones led me to specialise in hormone imbalance in women.

I know so many of you feel the same as I did then; you feel like you’re losing the plot and struggling with life, but actually it could be life that’s making your hormones struggle.

  • If it feels wrong, it IS wrong!

So I know how it feels when your doctor tells you there is nothing wrong with you, that it’s all in your head.

When people say it’s your age, or a normal part of being a woman. I say HELL NO IT ISN’T! There is nothing normal about feeling bad, crying all day, or forgetting what you were about to say for the fifth time in an hour.

I know that if you feel something is wrong, something is wrong. And I know that there are things you can do, today, that can start to rebalance your hormones and get you feeling fantastic and looking great. Let’s do this!
